Banks pushing for heightened screening of foreclosure field workers

Banks are planning to require firms that they hire to process and maintain foreclosures to conduct more thorough background checks of the handymen and home inspectors that they employ to watch over homes in foreclosure, The Huffington Post reports.

The push for heightened screening comes in the wake of widespread reports that workers tasked with overseeing properties in foreclosure routinely break into occupied homes and even steal from them.
